Debut album from Stockholm soul duo Grapell, released on Strangers Candy & Roll Call Records 2017.

It’s not unusual for best friends to form bands, and Grapell co-founders Emil Erstrand and Nils Nygårdh have been friends and bandmates since they were teenagers. What is unusual, though, is for that chemistry to translate so wholly into a timeless sound, a style so fully-formed it feels borne from a lifetime of collaboration.

In 2016, Grapell released the Love Chamber EP, featuring “Arrow,” a track that captivated blogs and streaming platforms alike. Their debut album, Crier, stays true to the duo’s organic approach, recorded between their rehearsal space and lead singer Emil’s home. The album explores themes of love, romance, and heartbreak.
